Taiwan Filmmaking Mixer

Last week, a guy working in the film industry in Taiwan saw our videos and really liked them. He has done many film projects and his latest project was for a video for National Geographic. After seeing our videos, he contacted us and invited us to go to a filmmaking mixer to network and meet new people. Todd wasn't able to go, so I went by myself.

We met at the Yang San Lang Art Museum 揚三郎美術館. I met many different people there, producers, directors, sound technicians, writers etc. There was a lady there that is a journalist, and spent one year in Palestine filming a documentary. While she was there she actually got kidnapped.
We spent the evening introducing ourselves, and telling everyone our backgrounds and what we do when it comes to film. This meeting was put together because there are so many film makers in Taipei, but they never get together to talk and work with each other. They said they wanted to keep having these meetings so everyone can keep in contact and help out if needed.

I'm really glad we have been noticed by these professionals, and hopefully through this networking we will be able to move on to bigger and better projects in the future.

Merry Christmas!

 Merry Christmas from Taiwan!

and Grace
With the 60 degree weather and lack of decorations, it doesn't even feel like Christmas. This is the first Christmas that Todd and I haven't been home. I am so lucky because I get to go into work today. This is definitely not the best Christmas.

Our Christmas wasn't too eventful. In the morning we opened our presents, and then later in the afternoon we went over to Costco to get some lunch and some food for a Christmas dinner. I was lucky because I had to go to work today...

Since there is a lack of Christmas here, and I had to teach, I thought I would bring Christmas with me to school. I asked all of my students if they got presents for Christmas and only 3 of them said they did. I prepared little gifts full of treats for my students because I feel bad that they don't get to enjoy this holiday. I made little presents full of fruit snacks, granola bars, Hello Kitty gum and chocolate marshmallow pies. Although Christmas wasn't as exciting this year, I was glad that I could bring Christmas to my students.

This is one of my classes that I gave the presents to.

We had to teach some of our students a Christmas song to perform for the secretaries, so below is a video of one of my classes singing.

Chicken and pasta.
Thank you Grace and Costco for this delicious dinner
Thank you mom and dad for the gifts and thank you grandma for the M&M's. We love and miss you guys!

iHouse Show

One of our friends that helped me find the juggling club found some people that want us to help them make a video of the different musicians around here that do local shows. A couple guys were doing a little show the other night at a cafe called iHouse which is down the street from our apartment, so I went over there and checked it out. Here is a song they performed.

Dinner With One of Todd's Fans

Todd was interviewed by a student at Chengchi Univeristy awhile back. A few weeks ago one of the interviewer's friends contacted Todd through Facebook to see if we wanted to go get food with them because she really liked the video and thought Todd was awesome. She treated Todd like he was a huge celebrity which was pretty entertaining. They are really awesome people.

Our mom left to the airport today to head back home. This week went by way too fast. We're going to miss her a lot, but at least she will be back in a few months.

Thanks for everything mom! You do too much for us.
And thanks dad for sending over the gifts, medicine and jackets.

Day Trip

Our friend's family drove us around the coast of Taiwan all day today. We stopped at Yilan and Jiufen. Both were awesome places with beautiful scenery.

This dog followed us up the mountain

We stopped at a store on the way home and couldn't resist buying these giant donus.

Contact Juggling Video

Just finished editing a video I was working on last week.

DeLin Institute of Technology

On Friday morning I met up with the director from DeLin. He invited me and a few jugglers to go to a couple of his P.E. classes at his school. He just wanted me to film the classes so they could use the footage to show the progress they make while learning how to do different types of juggling. Hopefully I'll be able to do more for them in the future.
